First Linez Grandmaster

We've got our first Linez Grandmaster this afternoon — ys9, who joined Varten merely four days ago. Grandmaster is the second highest level on Varten that requires Linez players to reach 2100+ points three times to qualify for the title. Achieving that in a couple of days is no small feat. Congratulations, ys9!

New website launched!

After a lengthy hiatus, a brand new website has been launched for Linez fans.

Besides many UI improvements, the site has introduced nine levels of Linez expertise: novice, apprentice, junior, senior, professional, master, senior master, grandmaster, and legendary. Your progress and achievements can be easily tracked if you sign up for a free Varten account.

What you now see on is just a glimpse of a grander vision. New features will be rolled out from time to time. If you'd like to influence the development of Varten, please feel free to drop me a line or leave comments on this blog.
